Elcea: caring for your hearing
From the very beginning, Elcea has focused on custom-made hearing protection. In other words: made-to-measure and produced individually. That makes every hearing protector unique. The company also makes custom-made earpieces for hearing aids. Elcea is one of the top players in the market in both fields.
How it all began
Elcea founder Cees Hardeman in 1985 introduced the first custom-made earplugs to the marketplace. A lot has changed since then in the area of hearing protection. Yet the same values remain key in today’s day-to-day work: craftsmanship, innovation and a passion for one’s profession. This has led to various revolutionary inventions in ‘Soundlab’, our own Research & Development department. Custom-made earplugs made of flexible materials and the unique RC Filter with flat attenuation are examples of this.
Understanding of personal safety at work has improved greatly. And European legislation also increasingly focuses on protecting people at work. This not only applies to people who work in industrial environments, but also to those in aviation and the armed services. People there justifiably rely on the hearing protection developed by Elcea. More and more people are discovering the advantages of custom-made hearing protection: musicians, those who work in the music industry, motor cyclists, sportsmen and women.
